How to do more in less time
As a successful and ambitious person, are you always pressed for time?
With a to-do list as long as your arm, what is the most effective way to manage your time so that you can accomplish more?
Now we all aim to be productive, but in a world full of noise, it’s so easy to get distracted.
Whilst technology can be a dominant factor in causing us to waste our precious time, it can also be a solution to our problem.
So here are some great productivity apps that will enable you to finish tasks faster and to save time whilst doing it.
If you find yourself saying that you “do not have time “ then a great app for you is HOURS. This app allows you to track exactly how you use your time. That is, you can track how much time you spend on tasks in contrast to the amount you spend on distractions. Then, at the end of the week you will receive a measurement of your performance, so you can see if you are utilising your time in the most effective way.
Now, you may already be aware of the benefits of white noise when it comes to aiding sleep. But how about the fact that it can also help you to stay focused? This is what you’ll get with the NOISLI app. It provides you with a list of ambient sounds that can help you to drown out all that office noise. So you can listen to your favourite background sounds that will enable you to stay focussed on the task at hand.
Do you like the idea of breaking down your work into intervals? Well, the app FOREST allows you to do just that. Following the Pomodoro technique, which I personally love, you have to create time blocks. You may choose to set your timer for 20 minutes or 30 minutes, but in that time you are not allowed to check your phone for messages, go on websites or even check out the feed on Facebook. Now if you are successful, you will begin to grow from a tree to a forest starting from a simple seedling.
If you’re someone that gets easily distracted then the FREEDOM app may be just what you need. It will free you from distractions by allowing you to set up a list of websites/apps that you tend to get distracted by. You then schedule freedom sessions for a predetermined time and then the app will block you from those distracting apps/sites.
Now let’s talk about mindfulness. If you're seeking a healthier state of mind and a relaxed one at that, then I think that the app MINDFULLNESS is going to be for you. No one wants to be left feeling burnt out at the end of each working day so take a moment to yourself to just Zenn out. This app is basically meditation on the go but it also allows you to track your progress. So go ahead and check out its guided and non-guided meditation resources.
Now I’ve provided several apps that I have personally used and have helped me to be more productive with my time. As these are just some examples, I would suggest that whatever you choose to help you accomplish more with your time, that you regularly review how you are using them on a daily basis, to ensure that they are working for you and enabling you to achieve your goals.
