Well, let’s hope that isn’t the case.

Seriously, when was the last time that you treated yourself by taking time off from your business?

Remember, you earn your holiday time, and you should use it to reward yourself.

After all, a lack of playtime actually keeps you from taking in information effectively and seeing the totality of a situation.

If you ever feel like your constantly getting ill, you're always feeling tired which leads you to being cranky, and your reaction times seem to be decreasing, then that's even more reasons for you to take time away from your business.

Time to just relax and feel rejuvenated

Now you’re probably saying “Diane, I can’t possibly take time away from my business. If I do that, nothing will get done’.

But what I’m going to tell you is YES YOU CAN and NO THEY WON’T.

You are not doing yourself or anyone else any favours by being on the brink of exhaustion and therefore you are going to need to put better systems in place to ensure that you are able to have that holiday that you deserve.

So let me help you cultivate the right systems that will make all the difference to how you spend your time. Follow these basic steps to get you started but, remember that it’s about building your habits one system at a time to avoid feeling more overwhelmed. Your focus should be on incremental progress. So here goes:

  1. Think about what are the key areas that make up your business e.g:

    Marketing

    Sales

    Customer Service

    Content Creation


  2. Now break down those key areas into processes. Let’s take marketing as an example . The processes that may be involved within your marketing system are:

    Email marketing

    Social media marketing

    Offline marketing

    Newsletters


  3. Now identify what tasks are needed to carry out each process and write out the steps needed to execute them. However, you also need to ensure that you are evaluating your processes too.   If they are not working well for you then you will need to revise them.


  4. Identify what processes or even tasks within a process can be automated. There are a wealth of tools out there that can help you with automating your processes.


  5. Now think about which areas of your systems you can outsource. Especially now that you have created step by step guides on how to carry them out.  Now the tasks that you delegate or outsource could be tasks that :

    Are not directly bringing in money into your business

    Are repetitive

    Arent your forte and/or that you have little knowledge about

    You simply detest doing


By relinquishing some control over your business and placing it into the hands of those can support you using their skill sets, can ultimately SAVE YOU TIME.

And what are you going to do with that extra time you have now saved?
